NEW DELHI – Ms Meena Kvinde is a keen fitness enthusiast. She loves running through Mumbai’s crowded streets at an easy pace. But for years, she has grappled with one conundrum – derisive stares from passers-by.

She runs in a sari because it is the most comfortable garment she wears. It is not a body-hugging, activewear she finds uneasy in.
