A Conceptual Art Project Depicts Food Excess Through Design

“Crumb Cud” goes beyond the representation of excess food and explores a dystopian world where objects will replace human autonomy. The film explores the consequences of a world where every religious, spiritual or ethical belief would be embodied by machines or objects, eventually losing sight of what it means to be human. The vacuum-fitted, carefully designed trunk that sweeps up any spilled foodstuffs signifies a loss of personal responsibility. The eater is reliant, whether unconsciously or consciously on the mechanical processes provided by Crumb Cud. They lose control of their actions.
