New Delhi, February 11, (PTI), A juvenile was apprehended by police for allegedly robbing an Faridabad-based businessman, Rs 50 lakh, at gunpoint in southeast Delhi. Police said that the incident occurred on Saturday.

They identified the accused as Aakash Sharma, a Baghpat resident in UP. He said that he is currently enrolled in his first year at a polytechnic college.

Senior police officers said that Jangpura Extension’s garment godown was the victim of an armed robbery. Police received notification on Friday, around 3.15 PM.

Aashish Chauhan, the complaint, said that he went to Jangpura Extension to do a money transaction at the request of the accused. According to the officer, the two boys who came for the deal robbed the cash and fled.

Police were able to get a tip about the accused during an investigation. A raid was later conducted, and the two were taken into custody from Baghpat. Special Commissioner of Police (Crime), Ravindra Sing Yadav stated.

Police said that all the stolen cash and scooters used for escape were recovered from their possession.

Yadav claimed that the complainant was conniving with Zubin Joshi and they called him Jangpura to inquire about Rs 75 lakh in white. In exchange for Rs 50 Lakh in cash, Yadav revealed.

According to police, they had already done a recce of the area two days prior to the incident. They also parked their scooter on the street adjacent as an escape strategy.

They stole the weapon from Shivam, a relative of Sharma. The accused demanded Rs 50 lakh from the complainant at the Garment Godown of Sarbjit Singh. Police added that they threatened the suspect by pointing out his gun and robbing the bag containing cash. PTI NIT CK
