ELCA Resources: Prayers

A prayer for those suffering for the sake or conscience (ELW, pg. 80)
God of faithfulness you bless the persecuted. Strengthen the conscience-driven sufferers. When they are accused of something, keep them from speaking with hatred. When they are rejected, keep them from bitterness. And when they are in prison, keep them from despair. Please give us grace to listen to their witness, to discern truth and to be able to appreciate it, so that our society can be strengthened and cleansed. Amen.

47) A prayer for the wellbeing of Creation (ACS page 47). 47)
We thank God the Creator, who placed the stars and directed the movement of the planets, who dressed this earth in a thin layer of air to make it a place of beauty and joy, and who breathed the breath of Life into each one of us: we are grateful for the gift that is air. We thank you for the gift of air. Amen.
